A quick and effective way to send job details and instructions to your drivers, and maybe also confirmations and updates to your customers, is by SMS text message.

Automatic message format

From the Control Centre you can despatch a job and the details are automatically formatted into a suitable message and sent to the driver's mobile. Or you can schedule certain automatic messages to go out to the customer, such as confirmation of a booking, quote, notification of arrival at pickup (useful for passenger work), or proof of delivery (useful for courier work!).

The mesasge formats are fully configurable, so the text messages sent can be tailored precisely to suit your particular type of business.

2-way communication

As well as sending messages out to the drivers and customers you can also:-

  • Get an automatic receipt to tell you that the message has hit the recipient's phone
(in the case of dispatching a job to a driver, this can automatically update your control screen).
  • Have replies routed back into your system and, where appropriate, displayed on the control screen.

How does it work?

In the Control Centre when you type a message, or despatch a job or perform any other action that triggers a text message, the message is sent out via TSLGateway to your chosen SMS Provider who then routes it via the appropriate mobile networks to the target mobile phone.

If you have automatic receipts enabled with your SMS Provider, a message comes back in from the mobile phone via TSLGateway and shows in the Control Centre, so you know the message has been received.

Likewise if you have 2-way messaging enabled, you can receive replies and messages (from your drivers) directly to the Control Centre.
