Control Centre already has a built-in 'postode learning' feature that 'remembers' every postcode you enter, gradually building up a database of postcodes over time. However, you may feel you need to move up to the next level, which is to enter any postcode and have the full postal address returned. Using TSLGateway we are able to integrate the Control Centre with many third-party providers of postcode data, whether via an online service or installed software package.

This gives you the freedom to choose the provider and method that best suits your budget - typically the online solutions work on a pay-as-you-go basis, where you top up an account and pay per look up, whereas the software based solutions usually involve a larger initial outlay, with optional updates. How does it work? When you initiate a postcode look up from within the Control Centre, by typing either a postcode or a postcode and door number combination, the request is passed via TSLGateway to your online or software-based postcode provider. The result of the look up, which may be either a single street or multiple delivery points with door numbers and even company names*, is returned via TSLGateway to the Control Centre, which then uses the returned data to either fill in an address (e.g. on the booking screen) or pop up a list of addresses for selection. * Depending on the provider and the product/service level you have chosen.
